News: Tesco Respond to GAME's 3DS Purchasing

Tesco has responded to the news that GAME asked staff to purchase 3DS consoles from them.

Yesterday we informed you that a leaked internal memo asked GAME staff to purchase 3DS units from Tesco and trade them in to help raise pre-owned stock. This news sparked a strong debate amongst fans and was even reported in many newspapers today and now Tesco has responded.

Upon learning that GAME asked, although did not force, its staff to purchase the consoles from Tesco to take advantage of their offer that saw the 3DS sold with a game for 209.90 a Tesco spokesperson wryly responded to Eurogamer. The spokesperson stated: "We always provide Tesco customers with the best value, we think you could say this is game, set and match."

While GAME has faced some strong criticism from gamers and other press it seems Tesco is quite happy in the knowledge that GAME has admitted that their deals are better.
