Hudson's jam-packed version of Tetris for WiiWare has been confirmed for a release this Friday in Europe.
The critically-acclaimed Tetris Party reaches Europe this Friday. The latest official Tetris title has been developed by Hudson and will be available for 1200 Points.
A whopping 18 game modes (including 10 never-before-seen single-player and multiplayer variations) will be available, compatible with both the Wii Remote and the wonderful fitness peripheral, Wii Fit's Balance Board. Four players can play together locally, while six can play via online multiplayer - all either co-operatively or competitively. Here's a list of all the modes available in Tetris Party:
- Marathon - Play for points across 15 manic levels, and test your sanity in the Endless survival mode.
- Computer Battle - Duel the robotic fiend that is the computer, with 15 levels of adjustable difficulty settings.
- Field Climber - Strategically place Tetriminos to help a climber scale a Tetris mountain and reach a goal at the top of the screen.
- Shadow - A puzzle mode which sees you placing Tetriminos to try and fill an on-screen silhouette. Includes 30 different puzzles.
- Stage Racer - Race one Tetrimino through beginner and advanced levels and try to get the fastest possible time.
- Beginner's Marathon - A lighter paced, more casual mode for those new to Tetris. Features bigger Tetriminos and less hectic gameplay to ease the player into the experience.
- Vs. Battle - Duel your friends and use 10 different items to your advantage to achieve victory.
- Vs. Field Climber - Fight against another player and be the first guide your climber to the top of the screen.
- Vs. Hot Lines - Clear lines indicated by a glowing green strip to win.
- Vs. Shadow - Be the first to clear the silhouette puzzles in this multiplayer variant of the single-player mode.
- Vs. Stage Racer - Be the first to race your Tetrimino through the different modes and to the finish.
- Co-Op Tetris - The screen size is increased, and players must communicate with each other to clear the puzzles.
- Duel Spaces - Two players duel in a turn-based strategic mode in which they must use Tetriminos to capture spaces.
- Balance Board - Use the Balance Board to play through three modes: Marathon, Ultra and Computer Battle.
- Online Battle - Log into Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and battle friends or randomers in six-player simultaneous battles.
Described by its developers as the "ultimate party title", the title is already available to download in the States and Latin America. Our European and Australian readers only have until Friday to wait.
