News: The Wii Hits The Schools

It's in retirement homes for the old and now schools for the young...

The government is now proposing to use Wiis for virtual PE in schools to try and crack down on obesity. Five schools in Worcestershire have had 'Virtual PE' lessons to tempt more pupils to try and exercise and the departments responsible for the health of the children are remaining positive with the project.

A spokesperson from the Department of Health said "We welcome the positive impact that innovations like these can have as a step towards getting people to participate in a range of physical activities and enjoy the many benefits of an active style." Another question is whether or not school pupils will get the newly found 'Wii Syndrome'.

This can only be good for Nintendo if the plans follow through, which will allow youths to play the Wii themselves and experience the games first hand. What better way to advertise than draw people in by allowing them to play it?

Will Wii owners open their own virtual sports complex to make some money? Stay around with N-Europe for updates.
