The 25-year wait for a musical Final Fantasy game is over...

Square-Enix has confirmed that the 3DS-exclusive Theatrhythm Final Fantasy will be releasing in both Europe and North America this summer.

Theatrhythm is proudly held up to be the first Final Fantasy rhythm action game. The game has you play as characters from across the whole Final Fantasy universe, but progression is gained not through grinding, menu-based battles, but by keeping the rhythm to the franchise's most iconic tracks.

The game boasts a tracklist of over 70 classic scores. Having released in Japan, the game has already been subject to new songs releasing via DLC updates, but no details on this front have been provided for the western release.
