News: Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Details & Screens

Square Enix has released some information about the rhythm game Theatrhythm Final Fantasy.

When news broke that Square Enix would be releasing a rhythm game based on Final Fantasy last week people were surprised. More details about the title, known as Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, have been revealed and even a few screenshots have been released so you know what to expect.

The back story for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy relates to the space between the Gods Chaos and Cosmos, which is apparently called "rhythm". This gives birth to the crystal that controls music and helps to fill the world with sound. Unfortunately the forces of chaos have disrupted the peace and the crystal has begun to lose its shine so the warriors must begin their journey to increase the music wave "Rizpo".

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy will feature three stages based on all the games released, from Final Fantasy 1 through to Final Fantasy XIII. Each title will have a "field", "battle" and "event" stage that you can choose, each of which offers different gameplay modes according to Andriasang.

As was revealed last week the characters will be in the 'chibi' style and you will be able to have a party of four characters. No official character list has been unveiled but the screenshots released so far indicate that popular characters from all the titles will make an appearance. In true RPG style characters will level up after each stage and you will be able to collect music and movie scenes while you play the game.

The title will of course have music from past games. The songs that have been confirmed to be included in Theatrhythm Final Fantasy so far are: Clash on the Big Bridge (Final Fantasy V), One Winged Angel (Final Fantasy VII), At Zanarkand (Final Fantasy X) and The Sunleth Waterscape (Final Fantasy XIII).
