News: Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 12: The Masters Details

Dust off those clubs and compete in the Masters Tournament.

Today EA has announced that Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 12: The Masters will hit home consoles later in the year. The title is the first time in the franchise that you will be able to participate in the Masters Tournament, although most of the early publicity for the title has focused on the lack of Tiger Woods on the box.

Last month we reported that EA were considering easing out the golfing legend due to his poor performance lately. While the new title still features his name, and he is seen on the box for the PS3 version, this seems to be the beginning of EA's phasing out period.

The title itself will no doubt to appeal to golfing fans with all its features. As well as the ability to step onto the greens of the Augusta National Golf Club the game also has a brand new mode entitled 'Tiger at the Masters'. In this mode players will be able to relieve each of the four times Tiger Woods has won the Masters and try and beat his score.

Throughout the game Jim Nantz and David Feherty will provide commentary while an in-game caddie will assist you in preparing for shots by evaluating several pre-shot aspects. Once again the Wii Motion Plus will be supported but for the first time the Balance Board will also be supported to try and help you replicate the perfect golfer's balance.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters features many more modes, golfers and courses that fans of the series will no doubt enjoy. The game has been given a European release date of April 1st 2011.
