News: Tokyo Game Show 2011 Still Being Held

CESA has confirmed that the Tokyo Game Show will still take place this year in spite of the devastation caused by the Sendai disaster.

The organiser of the Tokyo Game Show, CESA, has confirmed that the event will still be taking place this year as scheduled and it has not been affected by the earthquake and tsunami to hit the Tohoku region on March 11th.

There was some concern that the event, due to take place from September 15 to September 18, would not take place but CESA has confirmed that it is still going on according to Andriasang. The earthquake caused some damage to the convention centre but repair work is currently under way.

The rolling power outages, an attempt to help preserve power lost by the damage caused to the Fukushima power stations, are also not a concern according to CESA. The only real change that the earthquake has led to is the inclusion of charity auctions and fund raising events to help aid the relief efforts.
