Tony Hawk's set to prove he make pull off his tricks on Wii and DS.
After the somewhat average Tony Hawks Downhill Jam, Wii fans have been left to wonder what the next installment of the popular franchise will do to show that it has a future on the console. Today Activision have announced this title Tony Hawk's Proving Ground for all major formats including Wii and DS, opting not to give us Nintendo fans a spin off this time.
Activision this time have decided to offer a completely new and unique game with the ability to truly customize your experience throughout, not only in the editing of character, but also the ability to define your skating style and the story depending on what path you take through the game.
Interestingly though it is the online experience that will excite most people, with the press release promising: "a fully customizable online Skate Lounge where players can skate with friends in the ultimate pad. In addition, players will have the freedom to skate from single player to online seamlessly."
Whether or not the Wii version will include such an extensive online mode like its Xbox 360 and PS3 iterations invariably will remains to be seen, there is hope though as the Wii will have been online for a good few months prior to this games release, giving the developers Neversoft plenty of time to implement online functionality.
