News: Top Gun delayed

Titus Interactive's stunning Game Cube conversion of Top Gun: Combat Zones, its PlayStation 2 smash, will now take off in September 2002.

The game, being developed by flight sim aces Digital Integration, is being held on the runway for a couple of months to allow the team to complete final preparations prior to take-off ensuring that when it does take to the skies, Game Cube owners will be treated to one of the most explosive combat game on the format.

The game's resolution is the most obvious improvement, with the draw distance extended to allow for larger play areas. Pilots can now plan their attacks with even greater accuracy, ruthlessly tracking enemy planes from an even greater distance. The flight models have been tweaked following feedback from the original version. Players can now opt for super-realistic or arcade handling; whichever suits their flying skills the best.

"The videos hosted at www.bastion.co.uk give a great indication as to how the game is shaping up, and this extra time will allow us to make it even better," says Ed Relph, Senior Brand Manager, Virgin Interactive Entertainment. "Early feedback has been extremely positive; we're confident Top Gun: Combat Zones will be one of the biggest blast on Game Cube, come September."
