True Crime's sequel gets a confirmed location, as Activision start the hype machine for what they hope will be a GTA-killer.
Activision's driving, racing, shoot-em-up adventure title True Crime was a moderate hit on the GameCube, but Activision think the semi-sequel - which we can confirm is set in New York - will truly be something to write home about.
Reviewed in the upcoming issue of American PS2 magazine PSM, it is described as "collossal in scale", and commented that it was "easy to impressed by the grandeur and scale of the city".
Apparently the fighting system has gotten an overhaul so it is "three times as kick-ass" (PSM's words, not ours). Other new features include fully interactive and destroyable environments, as well as far more varied missions.
According to Activision, "if you think you know what to expect from True Crime, think again."
True Crime: New York City is currently slated to hit the Gamecube, Xbox and PS2 later this year, and we'll have more news on this title soon.
