News: Ubi President Talks Assassin's Creed Wii U

Ubisoft's CEO drops some cryptic words about the Assassin's Creed title heading to Wii U...

Despite being confirmed fairly explicitly at E3, we don't really know anything about the Assassin's Creed Ubisoft are making for Wii U (or any other third party Wii U title for that matter). Ubisoft's CEO Yves Guillemot spoke to Aftonbladet (translated by Eurogamer) about the upcoming title and chose his words carefully.

Guillemot denied that the Wii U game was Assassin's Creed Revelations - the next HD Assassin's title - and indicated that it would be Ubisoft's next title in the franchise after that title hits the market. No surprises there then. But he also stated that the Wii U game was "for the future".

A dodgy translation or a poor choice of words are possible, but we wouldn't be gamers if we didn't look for something more cryptic. Some have guessed whether this might mean the Wii U game is set after Revelations, while it could simply mean it's due to release after it (goes without saying seeing as Revelations is due to release this November). Annoyingly, as Guillemot was asked whether the Wii U game is Assassin's Creed III or another side-arc, he responded with "I can't tell you that".

Of course we all know it's probably just going to end up cancelled anyway.
