News: Ubisoft - 8 3DS Games For Launch Window

Ubisoft plans to hit the ground running, bringing eight of its franchises to 3DS within the first few months...

Ubisoft has revealed it is to launch a hefty eight 3DS games in the first few months of the console's lifetime, with some big names on offer.

Everyone's favourite limbless hero is at the top of the bill with Rayman 3D, will which be an adaptation of Rayman 2: The Great Escape on the Dreamcast. The Rabbids will also be getting their game on in the aptly-named Rabbids 3D, in what Ubisoft describes as the crazy bunnies' first platform adventure.

Those looking for a little more brunt may find it in the two Tom Clancy games that'll be releasing near launch. Splinter Cell 3D will be a port of the critically-acclaimed home console stealth game Chaos Theory. Meanwhile, there'll be a new spin on a popular series in Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars, which will offer all manners of high-tech warfare in the form of a turn-based strategy affair.

Car fans are also appeased for with Driver: Renegade, which Ubisoft promise will deliver some fast-paced driving action spanning a vast 3D city. There'll also be a new game in the Asphalt racing series, which takes advantage of the 3DS' StreetPass feature to trade game data.

Rounding off the line up is the brutal Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D and puzzle-adventure James Noir's Hollywood Crimes.

Ubisoft had a similarly comprehensive line-up for Wii's launch. While quantity is nice, hopefully the quality will not be skimped on this time around.
