News: Ubisoft Announces Line-Up

Ubisoft has revealed its US product catalog for the fiscal year 2005-2006.

Ubisoft has announced its product catalog for the fiscal year 2005-2006 (ending March 31, 2006). On the list Ubisoft released, a few new titles appeared.

In the first quarter of the fiscal year, Ubisoft will release Bomberman DS for the Nintendo DS, as well as Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith for the Nintendo DS and GBA, together with Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Lockdown for all major platforms (GameCube, XBox, Playstation 2 and PC).

The next quarter will hold a few unexpected releases. First of all, Ubisoft announced a brand new game from the Lunar-series: Lunar Genesis for the Nintendo DS. In these three months, Ubi is also planning to release Far Cry Instincts for "all current consoles" and 187 Ride or Die for the GameCube (amongst the other major platforms)

Quarter 3 brings even more joy to the Nintendo gamers. With Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 3 still on the releaselist for the GameCube (and the next-generation console version also set for this quarter), Peter Jackson's King Kong for the GBA, Nintendo DS and the GameCube (and again the next-gen consoles), Prince of Persia 3 for the GBA and GameCube, this quarter is destined to spend a fair amount of money to buy Ubi's games.
However, there's more. While the GBA and GameCube get the next installment of Prince of Persia, the Nintendo DS is said to receive Prince of Persia: Warrior Within at the same time. Since Warrior Within never received a GBA version, we expect this version to be a game designed to take full advantage of the Nintendo DS's capabilities.

The last quarter of FY2005-2006 brings only a few interesting titles: Killing Day confirmed for the next-generation consoles and Splinter Cell 4 confirmed for the GameCube and next-gen consoles. Whatever happened to the earlier confirmed Nintendo DS version of Splinter Cell, we don't know. But we intend to find out.
