After all, why spend time and effort on one truly great game when we can have Horsez 7 and Imagine Milkman?
Ubisoft, always one to please their Wii- and DS-owning fans, have commented in an interview with CFO.com that the lower development costs of casual games allow them to take more risks.
Ubisoft CEO Alain Martinez believes that "you can make 30 [casual] games for the price of one and try different things". Ubisoft have previously come under fire for admitting that the profits from their highly successful casual series' (including Imagine and the Petz range) are used to fund the development of pricier HD games on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
What say you readers, would you rather Ubisoft 'experimented' with low budget casual titles, or would you have them spend more time on larger scale projects such as Red Steel 2?
