News: Ubisoft Sales Jump

French publishing giant Ubisoft enjoys strong sales in the penultimate quarter of 2006

Thanks to better-than-expected perfomance by key titles such as Rayman Raving Rabbids and Red Steel, Ubisoft have enjoyed 24% jump in year-on-year sales for the same quarter of last year, the total sales figure reached around 200 million (310 million Euros).

A most impressive feat for a company that was subject to specualation of a hostile takeover from EA last year, and also considering the mixed reviews that its launch titles received. Now, how about that sequel to Beyond Good and Evil?

Of note is the fact that both Raving Rabbids and Red Steel were the second and third best sellers on the Wii during the launch in America and Europe. Kudos! This is of course very good news for both Ubisoft and the Wii, as good sales go hand in hand with increased ouput of products.
