Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot praises the Wii's successor and gives an indication of hardware performance.
Speaking to investors recently Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot praised Nintendo's upcoming console by stating the company would be able to "leverage" many of their PS3/360 titles on it. While no official specifications have been released ahead of its unveiling next month, although plenty of rumours are floating around, Mr. Guillemot has given an indication of what fans can expect.
"The platform Nintendo is coming with is really a fantastic platform. We think it will be extremely successful. What we see is that we will be able to leverage a lot of the work we do for Xbox 360 and PS3 while we create games for the platform. So we will not have to redo completely the games that we create. We'll be able to use all the capacity the console is giving but also use all the work we do for the other platforms."
This comment seems to imply that the Wii's successor will be as powerful, if not more so, than the Xbox 360 and/or PS3. This is in line with several of the rumours that have plagued the Internet for the last few months. Just how accurate these claims are remains to be seen but it is safe to say Ubisoft, home of Rabbids, Assassins Creed and Just Dance, are on board.
