News: UK 3DS Stock is Secure but Price Isn't

Nintendo UK has stated that stock levels should last over the weekend but the price may not be as secure.

Even though the 3DS was pre-ordered by more than 140,000 people in the UK Nintendo has reassured fans that the stock levels will last during the first weekend. Speaking to Eurogamer James Honeywell, Nintendo UK's marketing boss, states that despite rumours about stock numbers they have "well in excess of the pre-orders available."

"The pre-orders are 140,000. We've got way more than that available out there. So don't be put off by that. You can go out there and you'll be able to get one no matter what."

Mr. Honeywell does warn that while the stock should be okay for the next few days the launch prices offered, some as low as 170 when purchased with a game, may not last too long.

"I'm not sure a lot of those offers will be there for the long term. Those are great offers for the launch. There's huge amount of noise and hype around the launch. Those prices will start to revert a bit. Clearly people are trying to get as many possible sales as they can in these first couple of days. After that, perhaps a little more normality will come back to the market and you'll see that creep up again. So don't wait and think, oh, if this is how far it's gone down, it's going to go down even lower. You might see the opposite."
