Here's the deal with Cloudchaser,NGenres and Core Magazine.
After ages with little updates, Cloudchaser have announced why. They are merging with Core Magazine, another great games site. Here's the official letter explaining things:
In a couple of days, Cloudchaser will be merging with Core Magazine to create a brand new Web site called XenGamers.com. In fact, the guys over at Core Magazine have already started, so you can get a sneak peek at part of what we have planned for our future. Unfortunately, Cloudchaser.com tried its hardest to stay independent for as long as possible, but because we insist on staying a 100% free source of gaming, we decided to ally with the Core Magazine guys to create XenGamers.com. We had several options, many of which could have been more personally profitable for us, but the vision and drive we see with XenGamers (and parent company XenGen) makes us very confident that we're doing the right thing.
The Cloudchaser Web site will stay online as an archive for the next few weeks so you can peruse the content we have on display. Select pieces will make the move to XenGamers.com, and you will see some familiar faces from Cloudchaser assist with the XenGamers operation.
In addition to the XenGamers Web site, we have a few projects up our sleeves. As part of the Xen family, you can look forward to an April launch for XenStrategy and XenQuest. The first will help you in your search for in-depth visual guides, while the latter is a Flash-based quiz show based around gaming. In fact, if you take a look at XenPoints on the XenGamers Web site, you'll see how participating in the Xen sites can lead to some free games and stuff.
That's only the half of it, and while we can't really explain our other projects, we can tell you they'll always put the gamers first. We want to give you around-the-clock news, 100% free. We want to offer in-depth retail videos of gaming events at an affordable price. We want to give you a gaming community that will not turn into some pay Web site or will be riddled with pop-up ads. And who knows, there's some thunder coming from Segadojo and Tendo Box...
And speaking of community, the few thousand members of the Cloudchaser Forums will be pleased to know that we will be transporting everything in our move to XenGamers. We mean everything! All hundreds of thousands of posts, members, and more in the same high-quality, non-intrusive software we've had. In half a year, we are proud to see almost 400,000 posts from almost 4000 hardcore gamers, and there was no way we would mess with that!
Lastly, we would like to extend a hearty "thank you" to the readers, companies, and supporters of Cloudchaser since our inception. We are really proud to make the transition to what we hope will be even greater times in the near future. Stay tuned, because Cloudchaser will never die.
As well as this, NGenres are back on their feet after what seems like forever with technical problems.
No-matter how great these sites are, always remember one thing. Cube-Europe is better ;).
