North American dates for Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver right inside!

Pokéfans of the North American continent rejoice, as the release date for the next two games in the Pokémon franchise seems to have been revealed. The remakes of the GameBoy Color classics Gold & Silver will reach U.S. shores on March 14th 2010.

The date was originally posted this weekend by online retailer Amazon, but our friends at top Pokémon site Serebii.net have validated the date (still yet to be announced officially by Nintendo) as seemingly correct, and not just idle retailer speculation.

It is probably unnecessary for us to remind you that DS games are region-free, and thus any English-speaking Pokéfan this side of the Atlantic will be able to enjoy the two new games from the above date.

Regarded by many fans as the pinnacle of the handheld series and with no European date in sight, we've certainly put this one on our calenders. Will you be buying the games, or even importing them? Let us know your thoughts below!
