News: US Getting Black Remotes, Is Europe Next?

The sought-after black Wii accessories are finally getting an American release soon, but will Europe be getting the same treatment?

When Nintendo launched a black Wii console along with accessories in Japan in August Western audiences gazed jealously toward Japan, or simply imported the products, however Nintendo have revealed that they will be launched in America and hopefully Europe will follow shortly after.

Nintendo of America have revealed that they intend to launch the black Wii Remote and Nunchuck during the "holiday season", meaning anytime in the next few months before Christmas. While it has not been announced if they plan to release a black Classic Controller, as Nintendo have done in Japan, they have stated that a black Wii Remote and Motion Plus bundle will be launched although no pricing details are available at present.

You'll never go back apparently.

Strangely enough Nintendo of America have no stated whether a black version of the Wii console itself will be launched alongside the accessories. Whether there are no plans to release the black console or they are simply waiting to announce that at a later date, hopefully alongside a release date and pricing, will remain to be seen.

While Nintendo of Europe have yet to announce any plans for European audiences to be able to purchase their own chiaroscuro controllers it seems unlikely that an announcement is just around the corner. This information was released during the annual GameStop Managers Conference in America, and with GAME's own conference taking place later this month it seems likely details will be revealed then.
