Quickie update for RPG fans in America, as Square fills us in on their Q1 plans for next year.

It looks like early 2009 may be a hectic period for DS owners across the pond. With Moon set to be one of the first big-hitters to release in the year, Square Enix have announced a couple of titles you can get spending your Christmas cash on too.

First up, Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride will hit US shelves for the first time ever on February 17, 2009. The portable sequel to the recent Chapters of the Chosen and port of the original NES classic has never been released in the west before, despite a PS2 version having been developed in 2004.

Then there's Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume, a brand new entry in the sacred, turn based strategy series. Developed by tri-Ace, the DS title had a very positive showing at last month's Tokyo Game Show. Covenant of the Plume will release Stateside on March 17, 2009.

No European dates planned for either game just yet, but we'll be keeping our ears to the ground as always.
