A host of three retro gems led by Capcom's classic beat-'em-up: Final Fight.
Nintendo have had another root around in their retro vaults and dug out three more games for our button-mashing pleasure this week. Final Fight, Battle Lode Runner and Mighty Bomb Jack are the chosen ones today, each one from a different console. Read on to find out more about them.
Final Fight (800 Wii Points), originally released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992, is a beat-'em-up from Capcom which featured two playable characters, a large single player mode to beat and plenty of enemies to punch and kick the living daylights out of. Despite the omission of several features from the arcade edition, Final Fight will be irrestible to the beat-'em-up fans.
Battle Lode Runner (600 Wii Points) is a platform/puzzle game from Hudson. Originally released on the PC Engine, the Virtual Console version marks the game's first official release in America and Europe. The objective is to collect all of the gold in the level whilst avoiding robed men. Battle Lode Runner supports a five-player battle mode, which requires at least one GameCube controller in the mix.
Mighty Bomb Jack (500 Wii Points), which was originally released on the Nintendo Entertainment System by Tecmo, is a platformer-like game which sees you collecting bombs and running around pyramids like an explosive-hungry Indiana Jones whilst trying to avoid touching the many enemies and monsters.
I would like to end with an apology to the readers of N-Europe for my little mess-up with the timing of the previous piece of news related to Virtual Console releases. In my infinite wisdom I never thought to check if Sam had written his excellent edition of VC Weekly. So I apologise for any confusion caused and for writing it so soon after the actual reviews of the games. Look out for Sam's reviews of these three games in VC Weekly #10.
