News: Wave Race and Cratermaze Hit VC

This week brings us two new (er... old) titles to the Virtual Console: Wave Race 64 and Cratermaze...
Today's Virtual Console update brings us yet another Nintendo 64 title: Wave Race 64, available for the usual 1000 Wii Points. This classic jet ski game allows you to gain speeds by passing buoys on the correct side (missing will result in speed loss and failure if you miss 5), and includes Championship, Warm Up, Time Trial, Stunt and 2-player Vs modes. The game has complex wave physics, which were extraordinary for it's time. Due to an expired license, the in-game Kawasaki adverts have been replaced by Wii and DS adverts.
Secondly, the Turbografx game Cratermaze is available for 600 Wii Points. In Cratermaze, you take the role of Opi in his quest to save his friends from Zenzombie by travelling through time. Cue 60 maze-like levels. You trap enemies by digging holes, and reach the next lavel by collecting treasure. This is the game you would get if you put Bomberman and Lode Runner in a conical flask and stirred them a bit.
Look out for full reviews of both of these in the next issue of our Virtual Console Weekly feature.
