News: What To Expect From Ghost Recon 3DS

Want to know more about one of the 3DS launch titles in Europe? Head inside.

When the 3DS launches in Europe in March there will be a few titles aimed at more mature audiences along with Nintendo's more universal offerings. One such title will be Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars from Ubisoft. Julian Gollop, who is working with Ubisoft on the title, recently spoke to Tiny Cartridge about what gamers can expect.

Unfortunately Shadow Wars will not feature any online multiplayer or StreetPass features but there is still enough to keep fans happy. Gamers will be able to take control of six different characters, each having their own unique abilities and equipment. In-depth missions are promised with a variety of objectives in each.

Fans of Advance Wars will be intrigued by the suggestion that the tactical system will be similar to the popular DS title. Shadow Wars will feature indirect launches, area effect, EMP grenades and more as well as a 'support fire' mechanic, whereby if you are under attack nearby allies will assist you.

Gollop also promised detailed battlefields with cover effect and elevation factoring into tactical operations. Players must collect 'command flags' in order to get 'command points', which can then be spent on a number of powers. Power points are used by players to launch special power attacks for each weapon.
