News: White Engine For Wii

Square-Enix's FFXIII 3D engine will be heading to Wii. Head inside for details.

Taku Murata, head of R&D at Square-Enix, announced today at GDC 08 that the famous White Engine, which is the 3D engine used in Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII, has changed its name to Crystal Tools. More importantly, some of the newly re-named engine's many features are possible to pull off on the Wii, though they weren't show off in the slides presented at the conference, because it isn't 100% ready yet.

Murata also pointed out that Square-Enix has now stopped focusing exclusively on one console, which leads to the safe assumption that we might be seeing lots more Wii support from the company. More as we know it.
