Checkmate.

Wii Chess mysteriously appeared on a release list several months ago after no prior announcement or details. Finally, Nintendo have released a boxart as well as some information about the forthcoming new installment in the Touch Generations series of games.

Whilst we've yet to see the actual game in screenshots or in video form, we now know that the game will contain switchable visual styles (2D-3D, normal chess to Nintendo chess perhaps?), tips for beginners, local multiplayer as well as online play through Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, and a budget price of �20 (�30). The only concerning thing about this is the shot on the front of the German box art, which looks like it was put together using Mode 7 graphics. Maybe the game would have been better suited to WiiWare?
