News: Wii, DS Games Tidbits

Some tidbits on Battalion Wars 2, Soul Calibur Legends, Sonic Rush, Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber, Front Mission 1st and Contra 4...
This months issue of US magazine Nintendo Power brings us some new details on some Wii and DS games, as well as confirmation of Front Mission 1st for the Nintendo DS.
Battalion Wars 2 (Wii) Nintendo Power re-confirms that the game will have a Co-op mode. Developers Kuju previously stated that this mode will be available in split-screen, LAN and online modes. The game will also include some more mythical elements, including some dark orc-like characters.
Soul Calibur Legends (Wii) You will control your characters weapon with the remote. SCL will detect how you move the remote: Horizontally, Vertically and the direction you swing, as well as stabs. There will also be a parry and power ups. The characters will come from past Soul Calibur games, as well as some new creations. Namco Dream Team is developing Soul Calibur Legends, which is made up of Okubo (Director for Soul Calibur 1 and 2, the Art Director, Lead Game Designer and Lead Animator from previous Soul Calibur games, and various people from the Tekken and Ace Combat teams. Namco Dream Team will do their best to make fantastic visuals, and promis 16:9 and 60 frames per second.
Sonic Rush Adventure (DS) The graphics are a mix of 2D sprites and subtle 3D effects, and levels will include sub-levels (Act 1, Act 2, etc). Sega promise that they will not be messing with the 2D Sonic formula.
Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber (DS) Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber will expand on the previous game, King of Swing, by adding various new gameplay elements, based on in-game physics. It will have single card multiplayer and it has a visual style similar to Donkey Kong Country.
Contra 4 (DS) The developers promise that the game will feel familiar, and the visual style has been approved by Nakazato (director of Contra 3. Vehicles will make an appearance, as well as the opportunity to hijack a miniboss. It will have Easy, Normal and Hard difficulty modes, where Normal will be harder than previous Contra games. It'll have 4-player dual screen action and a remixed soundtrack.
Front Mission 1st (DS) Nintendo Power confirms that Front Mission 1st. It is a remake of a PlayStation game, which itself was a remake of a SNES game. Front Mission is a strategy game, similar in style to Fire Emblem games. The DS version will include local WiFi battles and touch screen controls. The hop screen is used for data and to play battle animations.
