Nintendo investors rejoice as Nintendo pulls out its strongest commercial week of 2009 for Wii in the UK...
Thanks to new and better-valued bundles released recently, it seems Nintendo is enjoying a newfound success with UK sales, both with hardware and software.
According to official sales monitor Chart Track, the Wii console experienced its strongest UK sales of the year for the week ending November 7th. This was allegedly fuelled by an over-50% increase in the white Wii Sports Resort bundle and a very solid start for the new black Wii bundle.
Things were also pretty rosy for Wii on the software side of things. Wii Sports: Resort's sales increased by 63%, enabling it to climb an impressive distance from 10th place to 3rd in the all formats chart (which combines all versions of games into one entry), leap-frogging multi-platform such as Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 and Forza Motorsport 3. Interestingly, older titles such Mario Kart Wii and Super Smash Bros. Brawl are riding high in the all formats chart as of late - undoubtedly down to new console bundles.
With Wii Fit Plus just out the door and the guaranteed-hit New Super Mario Bros. Wii set for release later this month, it looks like Nintendo are going to have yet another very profitable Christmas.
