The Wii exercise phenomenon has now reached at least 1 million consumers in Japan!
Wii Fit, the only device on God's earth that dares call Reginald Fils-Aimes fat (it's all muscle really). Fully revealed at E3 last July, Wii Fit comes with a Balance Board, intended to look like a pair of scales, which measures the centre of gravity and weight the user places on the board. The innovative peripheral allows the user to ski, go jogging and do yoga. Wii Fit retails for 8,800 in Japan.
The game has only been out since December 1st 2007 in Japan, but it has already surpassed the astounding 1 million units sold mark! It seems that the Japanese can't get enough of their Wii sports and fitness titles, with millions of copies of Wii Sports titles having been sold in the land of the rising sun (and it's not even bundled with the Wii there).
Wii Fit is coming to all other regions this Spring (and the Americans get their own special 'super-size' Balance Board). Stay tuned to N-Europe for the latest on Wii Fit.
