News: Wii Goes Up, DS Goes Down

Well the developer numbers at Nintendo are...

With the DS selling faster than you can say, well, "DS", and the success of the Wii increasing, it seems natural for Nintendo to make some changes. It has previously been stated by Nintendo that they're increasing their dev teams for the Wii to make more titles for the leading home console, while at the same time removing people from the DS development to work on such Wii titles.

But the question in everyone's mind is whether or not Nintendo will be creating games for the core audience or is it to expand the market by making non-games? Or perhaps even both? With AAA titles released and more released soon, what franchises has Nintendo got left? Will it be new franchises?
