The next edition of Guitar Hero will go multi-platform for the first time.

Multiple platforms will recieve the next Guitar Hero incarnation when it becomes available, say developers Activision. Scheduled for release in 2007, Activision's chairman and CEO Robert Kotick has announced the title will be available "on every significant new format," which surely includes the Wii?

The game will include classic rock, 'hair' metal, heavy metal, modern rock, and alternative tracks with more than 55 songs in total. If and when its confirmed (or not) for Wii, we'll let you know.
