American guitar peripheral manufacturer Rage has recalled thousands of wireless Wii guitar controllers after one user suffered chemical burns from a leaking battery. Faulty circuit boards manufactured in China have been blamed.

Rage is requesting that all guitars be returned for a full refund. About 57,000 have been sold thus far in the States. The company is known in the UK for its Gametrack branded products, though there have been no problems reported outside of the States.

No word so far on whether the victim has gained rock legend super-powers from the battery leakage.
