Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi claims the Wii is not the place for Resident Evil 5...

Although we've known since 2006 that the Wii would not be getting the latest chapter in the Resident Evil series (despite the sublime Resident Evil 4's success on the GameCube and Wii), fans have long held out for news of a port. Sadly, the chances have once again been dashed by Resi 5's producer Jun Takeuchi who once claimed the Wii would be unable to handle even the title screen of the game.

Speaking recently, he said that the development team wanted "the most powerful, most pretty game", for which "the Wii isn't the best choice." He noted that from a business perspective it may have been expected that a Wii port would be made, but that after completing development on the title, the team "are happy with the choice we made."
