The infamous Laurent Fischer has stated that a storage solution for the Wii is currently being looked into.

He may have irritated a large group of Wii users earlier this month, but we think it's time to give Nintendo of Europe's marketing director Laurent Fischer some forgiveness. Why? According to him, Nintendo are actively looking into a storage solution for the Wii, which should make it easier to store multiple channels and WiiWare/Virtual Console titles.

Says Mr. Fischer, "We definitely detect that they [gamers] are serious and we know there is an issue in this, so it's something that we're working on. Definitely there's no plan to issue hardware, an external hard drive, but we know that we have an issue in that area. It's very obvious and we're perfectly aware of it, but there's nothing we can say beyond this."

So if we won't be seeing an external attachment, will said solution be online-based? Or will it finally unlock the potential of the SD card slot? Either way, colour us excited, and let's pray that Nintendo have something to show at E3.
