Wii and DS finish as the two top-selling systems in US sales once more.
According to April figures from the NPD Group (which monitors US game sales), the Wii sold more than 714,000 units in the month, bringing total US sales to somewhere in the region of 9.5 million. Nintendo of America's Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Cammie Dunaway, said "Wii sales were buoyed in part by the strong launch of Mario Kart Wii, which sold more than 1.1 million units. Our belief in appealing to a broad, diverse audience of players continues to resonate with consumers, and we look forward to continuing our outreach to an expanded audience with the launch of WiiFit next week".
