The Wii is doing mighty well in France, and is appealing to an older age group...
The Nintendo Wii has now topped 700,000 sales in France, making the Wii a massive hit among the French.
The majority of sales are to the age group of 35-40, and a large chunk of those are women. The Wii is doing well, thanks to both it's price and "ease of use," thanks to the controllers. Emmanuel Arbey, the director of Digital Electronique Accessoire is very fond of the Wii and says "Je dis oui la Wii" (I say yes to Wii).
The PS3, on the other hand, is doing poorly. There is one main factor in these poor sales: The price of 599Euros. Fabrice Poisblaud, marketing director of BigBen predicts a drop in price to 500Euros, but still mentions that it will still be too expensive for most people.
