News: Wii U Super Mario Title Set For E3

We're yet to discover if it's a return of New Super Mario Bros. Mii...

Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto has confirmed that June's E3 will see Nintendo announce a Super Mario game for Wii U.

Miyamoto announced the announcement in an interview with El Mundo (translated by Eurogamer).

The interview initially left it ambiguous as to whether the game will be a side-scroller or a new 3D adventure, but Nintendo's later confirmation that the legendary game designer "confirmed that a new Super Mario Bros. game for the Wii U system will be shown" implies that it will come under the former category.

Nintendo showed New Super Mario Bros. Mii for Wii U last year - that title was a tech demo designed to show off how the new controller could work with a Mario platformer. We'll have to wait and see whether the new, fully-fledged game will be a direct progression of that concept.
