News: Wii Wrist Strap In Fourth Generation

The infamous Wrist Strap Of Doom enters its apparent fourth incarnation.
When the Wii was released, the Internet exploded with stories and pictures of people breaking TVs, windows, Remotes and bones due to a 'faulty wrist strap' (not the fact that people were letting go of their Wiimotes in the midst of a 90MPH swing in Wii Tennis). Nintendo responded within several days of launch with a newer wrist strap which was bulkier and less likely to snap. News has reached our numerous Nintendo-sensitive ears about a newer and better wrist strap than the previous version.
The new strap features a lockable clip in place of the original slider, which was inconvient due to the fact that it also slid loose the other way during long play sessions, meaning stories of people releasing their Wii Remote at high velocity in the general direction of their pet cat will be few and far between now. The new strap may be available with online orders of wrist straps directly from Nintendo but are likely to ship with new Remotes.
This is supposedly the fourth generation of the Wii Wrist Strap, but if anyone can remember what the third was, please share your nugget of information with us in the comments.
