n-Space's once-cancelled horror game has seen revived interest from publishers; thanks to you!
Let it never be said that online petitions "don't work". Perceptive readers will no doubt remember the Wii title Winter that was revealed a couple of months back. Unfortunately, developer n-Space was forced to put the promising game on hold due to a lack of interest from publishers. Gamers worldwide responded, and made it their duty to let companies know they wanted Winter.
It looks like something's worked. n-Space president Dan O'Leary contacted IGN's Matt Casamassina at GDC this week to spill some good news. Firstly, the company had restarted work on Winter over the past few weeks - refining the short demo that was released in terms of textures, graphical effects and general polish. The game has been improved into what the president dubbed as "Winter 2.0".
Also, O'Leary confirmed that n-Space had been contacted by a few publishers showing interest in the game since the popularity the initial announcement garnered among Wii gamers. If n-Space can convince just one of them that supporting Winter is financially viable, the horror title could see a release after all.
The gamers' petition to see Winter get a release reached over 17,000 signatures.
