Activision and Raven Software are creating a game that is sure to give X-Men fans of all ages something to be happy about. Their latest game, X-Men Legends is a real time RPG where players must create their own team from the popular line-up of mutants. The team then must fight some of Marvel's most known villains, including Morlocks, the Brotherhood of Mutants and robotic Sentinels.

"X-Men: Legends is the first game to capture the complete essence of the X-Men by allowing players to control multiple characters that fight together as a team," said Larry Goldberg, the executive vice president of Activision Worldwide Studios. "The game will blend the best parts of the movies, comic books in a fantastic new adventure that allows you to develop your specialized powers as you succeed through your missions."

The game itself has been written by Man of Action, a comic veterans studio, the game begins with the rescue of a young mutant and the plot expands that may unite the mutants, but destroy the human species in the process.

Over 15 of the most popular mutants from the X-Men 40 year history including Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Gambit and Beast and most have a large part in the upcoming film. Along the way players must use their team to gain experience and many scenarios benefit a particular mutant. The choice of mutants and what you use them for also introduces a large part of the game, strategy.

A four-player co-operative mode is also planned for the game, allowing four people to fight together. Players can join any time they wish or even take a break in the Danger Room.
