Ex president of Nintendo Hiroshi Yamauchi joins Nintendo in topping the charts!

Never a man to shy away from any business decision, it seems that Hiroshi Yamauchi knew what (Hanafuda?) cards to play all along.

A recent report from Forbes of Japan indicates that Hiroshi Yamauchi now holds the title of richest person in Japan. Mr Yamauchi's net worth soared upwards by $3 billion in the past year and has tripled since 2006. His current net worth is estimated to be around $7.8 billion. (That's a lot of Nintendo products sold.)

Being a continued major shareholder in Nintendo has helped Yamauchi jump from third position to first. Obviously this has all come about due to the continued success of both the Wii and DS.

No doubt the continued success of Nintendo is ensuring Hiroshi Yamauchi is massively enjoying his retirement.
