Hironobu Takeshita says he has a "great interest" in a sequel to the quintessential Wii hidden gem...

Hironobu Takeshita, producer on the critically-acclaimed and criminally-undersold Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure, has spoken in detail for the first time about his ambition for making a sequel.

The official Capcom line up til now has tended to cool talk on a sequel due to disappointing sales of the original, but speaking to Nintendo Power (via Nintendo Power), Takeshita indulged the idea, hinting that he already had ideas of his own.

"I have a great deal of interest in doing a sequel. It’s one of several IPs that I want to return to. As for Nintendo 3DS... it would be fun if people could play and solve puzzles together."

Zack & Wiki earned much critical praise upon release for its versatile use of motion controls across many inventive puzzles. A 3DS sequel would surely be most fresh, and hopefully more commercially attractive.
