Whilst The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess may have received mixed criticism amongst gamers, it still managed to scoop up an award at the annual GDC convention.

Twilight Princess received an award for its writing, with Kyogoku Aya, Nate Bihldorff, Mitsuhiro Takano being honoured for their work in this.

The critically acclaimed Wii Sports received yet more praise, by scooping up a total of two awards. It received recognition for Game Design and one more for Innovation.
