Nintendo reminds us of some key Zelda dates for your diary.
2011 marks the 25th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda franchise and Nintendo is keen to ensure the series is celebrated. During the year Nintendo has promised a myriad of events to celebrate the anniversary and as we come into the last few months of the year many of them are taking place.
The first big 25th anniversary-themed event was the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D on the 3DS back in June. In the next few months Nintendo fans can look forward to The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, The Legend of Zelda Four Swords Anniversary Edition and a symphony concert featuring music from the franchise.
Eager gamers can also play The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword before its release on November 18th. The title has been playable at Eurogamer Expo, which runs until Sunday 25th September, and will also be playable at GameCity6 in Nottingham on October 29th.
Fans were quick to purchase tickets for the symphony concert, which takes place on 25th October, when tickets were released a while ago. The concert will take place at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo in London and feature a 70 piece orchestra and a choir. However, if you cannot make the event a CD of the symphony will be featured in the limited edition The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword bundle, pictured above.
Next week The Legend of Zelda Four Swords Anniversary Edition will be made available as a free download until 20th February. The game has been given a number of improvements to make it more fun in single-player as well.
With all this going on Zelda fans have a lot to look forward to. Feel free to share what you're most looking forward to in the comments section below.
