Nintendo cannot confirm that there is a problem with Pirahna Plant DLC in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Last week we reported on the significant ver. 2.0.0 update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate which included all of the data for the Pirahna Plant DLC character assuming you had already obtained the code for either pre-ordering the game digitally, or registering your physical copy within the first few weeks of the games release.
Since then it seems that quite a few players have experience issues when using Pirahna Plant in All-Star Mode which has included complete corruption of their entire save files, which is a less than ideal situation to put it mildly.
Nintendo has issued an official statement to a site known as Newsweek which you can read below...
"We are aware that some users are posting about possible issues with the latest Super Smash Bros. Ultimate update. After extensive testing, Nintendo has not been able to confirm that there is an issue, although we will continue to investigate and monitor the situation."
So that's Nintendo's official comment on the matter at this moment in time, it would seem that whatever the apparent issue is which is causing the save file corruption in a small amount of cases, is more likely to occur with the digital version of the game, although it's impossible to rule out issues when using Pirahna Plant on the physical version as well.
Whatever the issue is, we can only hope that there is a fix for it either coming soon or in the next update and that any future DLC hopefully doesn't cause any similar problems.
Have you been affected by the recent Pirahna Plant DLC save file issues? Or perhaps have you been playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate since with no issues? Are you holding off playing the game until a definite solution is in place?

Update: Counterfeit SD Cards have possibly caused corruption in conjunction with the latest update under certain circumstances.
With the plot thickening on just what could have caused the data corruption which has become more apparent following the latest Super Smash Bros. Ultimate update, it looks like users on Reddit may have discovered that the data corruption could well be more closely linked to certain Micro SD cards, or at least counterfeit versions of them.
It seems that the corruption has also occured with a genuine Samsung 256GB EVO Select Memory Card as well though according to Reddit user rynoweiss so at this point it seems the only consistent aspect is the card itself potentially.
GameXplain have also released a video on the topic which you can find below...
At the very least, all of this has helped to shed some light on the issue and although it won't bring back any lost save files it's good to have this information out there for anyone who might potentially be purchasing a larger SD card in the future or indeed if they happen to have the particular card which may or may not have lead to these issues.
