Following on from this morning's reveal in Japan, Satoru Shibata has confirmed that both a Google Maps application and Wii U Panorama View will be heading to the console next year.
As previously reported, Google Maps will let you access the service on Wii U, with the added feature of being able to use your GamePad to look at Street View in full 360 degrees. In the Japanese Nintendo Direct, it was announced that Google Maps will be initially free early next year, but no such release of pricing details were divulged for Europe.
Also confirmed was a full release for the once-tech demo Wii U Panorama View. This software will be coming to the eShop, and lets you enjoy scenic trips across real-life locations around the world, using your GamePad as your viewing window. Examples shown off were a birds-eye trip around a city, and a rickshaw ride around Japan. It sounds like these individual experiences will be sold separately, but a free demo to try it out will also be made available.
Expect to see Panorama View release in the spring of 2013.
