If you missed out on tonight's Nintendo Direct broadcast - fear not! The full show is now online and you can watch it below. If you lack even the time to do that, let us briefly summarise the shenanigans.
The headline news was undoubtedly the announcement of a 3DS remake of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, finally releasing in spring 2015. We also covered a slightly advanced release date for Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, and an updated look at the stunning Splatoon, due to release in Q2 2015.
Sticking with the Wii U theme, we also got a brief glimpse of Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush - complete with 4-player co-op - due in the second half of 2015, and Xenoblade Chronicles X, due '2015'.
Nintendo's amiibo range of NFC figurines also took up a fair bit of time. It seems that a wide range of the figures can be used to unlock little things in various games. For example, they can be used to unlock costumes for your Mii to race in on Mario Kart 8 (Mario, Samus, Yoshi, etc). Perhaps more intriguingly, every single figurine can be used with Hyrule Warriors; each will unlock a random item or weapon, save for the Link figurine, which will specifically unlock the Spinner item from Twilight Princess.
On the subject of add-on content, there was confirmation that the first pack of Mario Kart 8 DLC - many of you will have already pre-paid for this - will be made available on November 13th. The second pack will be released in May 2015.
For something a little different, Shigeru Miyamoto has been hard at work making a range of animated Pikmin shorts. You can buy the full set in either HD on the Wii U shop, or in 3D on the 3DS eShop. They are £4.49 / €4.99. Curiously, a free demo of Pikmin 3 has also been belatedly added to the Wii U eShop.
Finally, 3DS avoided too much neglect thanks to talk of a few games. Ultimate NES Remix and Sonic Boom are released on the eShop tonight, despite their retail releases being later in November. Also on the near horizon is Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire and Persona Q. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will launch in spring 2015 complete with Mario and Luigi costumes. Finally, we got a long-overdue second look at Intelligent Systems's (Fire Emblem, Advance Wars) latest new IP - the steampunk strategy RPG Codename S.T.E.A.M.
