Nintendo not hosting large-scale presentation at E3 2013

According to the minutes of a recent investors meeting, published on Nintendo of Japan's website, they will not be hosting a large-scale presentation during E3 2013 and will instead focus on smaller events for different groups.

Every year Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony, as well as many publishers and developers, host large conferences to announce new products and talk about the year ahead.  Following two years of showing off the Wii U hardware, this year Nintendo will instead focus on the console's software.

According to the report, Nintendo will hold smaller events geared towards the U.S. market, showcasing the titles that will be released this year.  American distributors will get their own private event, while the Western gaming media will also get their own event and a chance to try the games.

Japanese gamers will get their information through Nintendo Direct events, building on the now-established series that provides new information throughout the year.

Of course, E3 attendees will be able to play the games on the show floor as normal.  However, it seems E3 2013 will be very different for Nintendo and their fans.

What do you think of the proposed changes?  Do you think it is wise Nintendo don't put on a big show while their competitors, Microsoft and Sony, will be showcasing their new consoles?  Let us know using the comments section below.
