Nintendo reveals Wii Sports Club

Cheekily tucked in at the end of today's surprise Wii Fit U presentation was the reveal of Wii Sports Club - a quasi-remake of the 2006 pack-in that shot Wii to international stardom.

Wii Sports Club will be free to download from the eShop, as the software acts as a hub through which you can access full HD remakes of the five mini-games that made up the original: tennis, bowling, boxing, golf, and baseball.

You can access the games via two ways. The more conventional method is to buy a Single Sports Pass, which basically lets you permanently buy each game you want. Each sport will be available to download in this manner for €9.99/£8.99.

Alternatively, you can purchase a 24-hour Day Pass, which will let you play all the sports available for a 24-hour period. The Day Pass will be available for €1.99/£1.79. Note that at the game's launch, only Tennis and Bowling will be available, with the rest to be added later.

With that said, the available Wii Sports Club games will be free for everyone to play for the first 24 hours after starting up the game for the first time.

On top of HD graphics, each Wii Sports Club game has been given full online multiplayer. You'll also be able to join communities based on your real-world location - so essentially it's a bit like joining a local sports club. Finally, the games have been tooled to be compatible only with Wii MotionPlus, for maximum control.

Wii Sports Club will be available to download from November 7th. Check out the relevant portion fromtoday's Direct courtesy of NintenDaan.
