Nintendo Switch 3.0 update live

There's a new update now available for your Nintendo Switch (version 3.0.0) which adds a bunch of interesting things such as Splatoon 2 icons, the ability to add 3DS and Wii U friends and Pokken Tournament controller support.

The System update 3.0 is now available for you to download and has some interesting features along with the usual stability updates.

Certain system flaws such as issues with HDMI input change have been implemented, along with the ability to add Wii U and 3DS friends and the ability to use your Wii U Pokken Tournament controller as a Pro Controller.

Below are the full details:

- Register a channel to receive updates for specific games

- Add friends from your Nintendo 3DS and Wii U

- Receive notifications when your friends come online

- Find paired controllers within range by activating vibration feature

- Change the user icon order on the Home Menu

- 6 new Splatoon 2 icons available

- Change system volume from Quick Settings

- Lower the maximum volume for headphone or speakers connected to the audio jack

- Change display colours to Invert colours of grayscale

- Connect a USB keyboard to the dock to type whenever the keyboard is on screen

- Use the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller via wired communication by connection the USB charging cable

- Update connected controllers

- System stability update prevents unintended HDMI input change with certain TV's when console is in Sleep Mode

- Resolved issue that caused game software updates to fail and prevent software from starting

It seems to be a fairly substantial update and certainly more fun than the usual non-descript 'stability' updates we're used to seeing on Nintendo 3DS.
